The round table titled “In Search for Opportunities and Potentialities for a Sustainable Collaboration with the Academics for Peace in Turkey” will be held on June 7, 2018 at 11:00-12:30 in room 117 (Sitzungszimmer) at the FTSK in Germersheim.

All of the four academics speaking at the panel are signatories of the Peace Petition demanding social peace in Turkey. Three of the panelists have been dismissed from their universities in Turkey and one has resigned from his position, publicly expressing his solidarity with one of his dismissed colleagues. At present they all continue their research activities at various German universities.

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tuba İnal Çekiç will speak about the Off-University project which was initiated last year to build an online platform to provide possibilities to colllabroate with academics in Turkey via online courses and research partnerships.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Neumann will speak about his own experiences and attempts to improve a sustainable and feasible collaboration between German universities and academics from Turkey by means of online recruitments.

Dr. Bediz Yılmaz Bayraktar will inform us about research writing project teams which work on designing joint projects of German and Turkish academics.

Dr. Meral Camcı will present background information about the Academics for Peace initiative. She will also speak about her experiences as a visiting scholar at the FTSK Germersheim and future plans.

After 15-minute presentations of the four speakers there will be a discussion on the possibilities and potentialities for academic solidarity and collaboration.
